Terms of Service
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This page is a starting point written in plain language. It is not legal advice.
What Hatchly does
Hatchly tracks the income you enter and shows you where you stand. You log payments, it organizes them by payer, month, and work type, and it estimates what you may want to set aside for taxes.
What Hatchly does not do
- It does not file your taxes.
- It does not run payroll.
- It is not double entry accounting and it is not a general ledger.
- It does not send invoices or collect payments.
- It does not hold or move money and has no access to your bank.
- It gives you information, not advice.
Tax estimates are estimates
Accuracy is yours
You are responsible for what you enter. Hatchly reports what it is given, so a wrong amount or a wrong date produces wrong totals.
Quick Capture parses text into a suggested entry. A parsed result is always a suggestion and never saves on its own. You confirm every entry before it is stored.
Your account
You need an accurate email address and you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One account is for one person. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.
Acceptable use
Do not use Hatchly to:
- Break the law or record activity intended to defraud anyone.
- Access another user's data, or try to.
- Probe, scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the service.
- Resell or rebrand the service without written permission.
- Upload malware or anything designed to disrupt the service.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first.
Service availability
Hatchly is provided as is and as available. We do not promise uninterrupted access, and features may change. Export your data regularly if it matters to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Hatchly and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, tax penalties, or interest arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Hatchly in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and tell you in the app. Continuing to use Hatchly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located there.
