Refund Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Template only. Have this reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
This page is a starting point written in plain language. It is not legal advice.
No one is being charged yet. Billing is not switched on, and every account is free while it stays that way. This page sets out how refunds will work once paid plans launch, so the rules exist before the first charge. We will update the date above when billing starts.

The short version

  • Cancel any time. You keep what you paid for until the end of that period.
  • Monthly plans: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your first charge.
  • Annual plans: a full refund if you ask within 30 days of the annual charge.
  • A charge we made by mistake is always refunded in full, whenever you notice it.
  • Your data is never deleted because you cancel.

The Free plan

The Free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund.

Cancelling

You can cancel a paid plan at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end your access early: you keep the paid features until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan.

Monthly plans

If you are not happy in your first month, ask within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full. After that, monthly charges are not refunded, but you can cancel before the next one and it will not be taken.

Annual plans

Ask within 30 days of an annual charge and we will refund it in full. After 30 days we do not refund part of a year. You keep the plan until the year you paid for ends, and it will not renew if you have cancelled.

Charges that should not have happened

If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged the wrong amount, we will refund the difference in full. There is no time limit on this.

If a paid feature stops working on our side and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will refund the part of your plan you could not use.

What a refund does not cover

Hatchly shows estimates, not tax advice, as the Terms of Service explain. A refund is not owed because a tax reserve estimate turned out different from what you actually owed, or because of a decision you made based on one.

Your data

Cancelling or receiving a refund does not delete anything. Your entries stay in your account, and you can export them to a spreadsheet at any time. If you want your account and data removed entirely, you can delete it from Settings, or ask us to.

How to ask for a refund

Email info@hatchlyfinance.com from the address on your account, or include that address in your message, and say which charge you are asking about. We reply within 24 hours.

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with. Once we have issued one, how long it takes to appear depends on your bank, usually a few business days.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the change applies to charges made after the new version is posted. A charge you have already paid is covered by the version that was in place when you paid it.
