Mission
Nobody built the thing that tells you what came in.
Hatchly exists because an entire category of software decided the self-employed lose their money on the deduction side, and built accordingly.
The problem is not the bookkeeping. It is the not knowing.
A salaried person has a pay stub. It answers every question about their income before they think to ask it. A 1099 worker has money arriving from many payers, in many forms, at times nobody scheduled, and nothing assembles it.
So the questions go unanswered. How much have I made this year. Who is my biggest client. Am I ahead of last year. What will I owe. These are not advanced questions. They are the basic facts of a working life, and most self-employed people cannot answer them without losing an afternoon.
Tedious tracking is why the not-knowing persists. It is the cause, not the pain. We are not here to make bookkeeping pleasant. We are here so that you know where you stand.
Every other tool is built to find your deductions.
Hatchly is built to show your income.
Expense trackers, mileage loggers, receipt scanners. All of them look at money leaving. The category never built the other half.
Thirteen years in one spreadsheet.
One tab per year. One row per payment. Venue checks, Venmo, direct deposits, and cash in the same ledger, with a macro that filed entries and refreshed a payer by month pivot. It worked, and it took thirteen years of discipline to keep it honest.
Hatchly is that ledger without the discipline. The spreadsheet is the mental model, not the interaction. We kept the structure that was proven over thirteen years, the per year ledger and the payer by month pivot, and replaced the typing.
Two audiences, the same broken picture.
Gig Workers
Money lands from five apps and three payers.
Drivers, couriers, musicians, creators, freelancers. Every platform shows you its own slice and none of them add up. The total exists only if you build it yourself.
Business Owners
Real profit is unknown, so every tax decision is a guess.
LLC owners running salons, trades, food trucks, studios. Revenue is visible. Profit is not. And profit is the number every meaningful tax decision turns on.

Financial Empowerment
You should be able to answer questions about your own money without asking anyone. Knowing is the product.
Clarity
One number that is true beats five that need interpreting. If a screen does not make something plainer, it does not ship.
Trust
A figure that moves for decoration is a figure you cannot trust. We say what we do not do, out loud, in the product.
What Hatchly does not do.
This is a trust feature, not an apology.
- It does not file your taxes.
- It does not run payroll or send invoices.
- It does not do double entry bookkeeping.
- It does not hold or move your money.
- It does not give you financial advice.
Hatchly does not replace a full service firm.
It tells you when you are ready for one.
