Comparison

Others find your deductions. Hatchly shows your income.

Easy to write, so we checked it. Every price below came from the company's own pricing page on 25 August 2026, at the regular rate.

Read the middle block. Five products, and not one of them shows you what came in, from whom, or whether this year beats last. That block is the whole reason Hatchly exists.

The View

This is what those three rows mean.

Rows are the people who paid you. Columns are months. Click any cell to see the payments behind it, or copy the grid straight into a spreadsheet.

Sample data

Sample data: income by payer and month, illustrative only.

Illustrative only. These payers and figures are invented to show the shape of the real Income Matrix.

Now look at the bottom block. Ours is mostly empty.

Hatchly does not send invoices, log a mile, or file your return, and we are not going to hide that in a grid. If invoicing is the job, FreshBooks or Wave is the answer. If you drive for a living, Hurdlr beats us and always will. If you want the return filed, Keeper files it. Plenty of people should run one of those and Hatchly together.

The Point

Why the middle block is empty everywhere else.

Every product above decided the self-employed lose money on the deduction side. That is where the saving is easiest to demonstrate, which is why the category filled up with expense trackers and mileage loggers.

It leaves a hole. If your money arrives from nine payers in four different ways, no amount of deduction-finding tells you what you made.

Hatchly is the part nobody built. What came in, from whom, on what day, added up. Not so you can file. So you can know.

Sources

Every price, and where it came from.

Read on 25 August 2026. Regular rates only, because a promotional rate is not what you pay in month four.

  • QuickBooks Solopreneur, $20 per month

Intuit. Filing is marked as an add-on because Live Assisted Tax is billed separately when you file rather than included in the subscription.

    quickbooks.intuit.com/solopreneur

Intuit blocks automated retrieval, so this price was not machine-read. Verify before relying on it.

  • FreshBooks, $23 per month Lite, five billable clients

FreshBooks pricing page. The page was showing a 90% introductory discount at the time of checking; the regular rate is used here. Mileage tracking is included on every plan.

  • Keeper, $199 per return Standard

Keeper pricing page. Includes federal and up to two state returns and up to ten connected financial institutions. Quarterly tax support sits on Premium at $399, which is why that cell is marked as a higher plan.

  • Hurdlr, $9.99 per month Premium

Hurdlr's own help documentation. Invoicing sits on Pro at $200 a year. The public pricing page does not display the figures.

  • Wave, $19 per month Pro, free Starter tier

Wave pricing page. Pro is $190 a year annually. Card payments are charged at 2.9% plus $0.60 per transaction.

On what the marks mean.

A dash means the plan does not publish that as a feature. It is not a claim that the product cannot do it. Every product here is competent at the job it was built for, and several are better at that job than anything we will ship.

Hatchly is in private beta with no users yet, so nothing here is a claim about outcomes. Nothing here is tax advice.
